Superwash is a chemical treatment to remove fiber scales and then coat the wool with a polymer, preventing it from felting and shrinking.
Be inspired by our sock wool made from alpaca and sheep's wool: wearing comfort, optical properties and technical advantages such as moisture regulation speak for themselves.
Alpaca is an intelligent fiber. As a hollow fiber, it has excellent thermo-insulating properties. Its unique temperature balancing properties make it comfortable to wear in both winter and summer. It does not scratch or wrinkle and is especially suitable for sensitive and delicate skin. Sheep wool makes this yarn particularly robust especially with regard to sock embroidery.
Care instructions: We recommend hand washing or dry cleaning. When washing in the machine, wash only in the wool wash cycle at 30 degrees Celsius and do not spin the machine. Afterwards, do not wring out the item and let it dry lying down. This way you will enjoy your handwork for a long time.
Did you know?
Alpaca wool is the "gold of the Andes" and was once reserved only for royalty by the Incas. It was therefore also called "fleece of the gods".
Alpaca wool is nowadays appreciated by designers all over the world as one of the noblest natural wool fibers and is used more and more. Only a few years ago cashmere was considered the finest quality of wool, but many connoisseurs are discovering the soft and elegant natural fiber for themselves and appreciate its outstanding properties.
